The Department of Mathematics of V V Giri Government Kalasala, Dumpagadapa playing a vital role in producing mathematics students.

• The department has its origin in 2001 when the college was under the affiliation of the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
  
• Restructured course was started with group combinations of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science in 2001 on self     financed basis.
• The B.Sc course with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as combination was started in 2008.
• The department has one sanctioned post from 2008 onwards. Previously guest faculty and contract faculty run the department.
• Later on the college was under the affiliation of Adikavi Nannayya University, Rajamundry from ______ .
• Upto 2014 the students used to write their examinations on year end pattern.
• Adikavi Nannayya University, Rajamundry has introduced CBCS pattern to the UG students from 2015-16 onwards. In this system semester end examinations are introduced. The 3 years degree course was divided into 6 semesters.
